If you’re wondering how to start a blog with Bluehost, look no further. Starting your blog can be super easy and affordable with Bluehost web hosting.
When I decided I wanted to start a blog, I read and researched for days. I googled how to start a blog, pinned tips for starting a blog on Pinterest and read every beginner’s guide to blogging that I could get my hands on.
I investigated some of the big bloggers, not only in my niche but in general, to see what they recommended. More than a few recommended Bluehost.
I checked it out for myself and it didn’t take me long to figure out why so many people recommended it.
By the way, this article contains affiliate links. This means I make a commission if you make a purchase. No extra cost to you.
Starting a blog with bluehost is one of the best ways to start a blog.
Bluehost has everything the beginning blogger needs to know to be successful.
They have free domain name registration, which can be helpful because the average cost of a domain name ranges from $8-$10/ year.
They also have free SSL certification included. I had to add it to a blog once. It was bareable but time consuming.
Bluehost web hosting also comes with 27/7 customer support. Every time I have used their customer support, I am greeted by a courteous agent who helps me with whatever I need. I have yet to ask a question that they couldn’t answer.
Lastly, they have a 30-day money back guarantee. Good to know if you just want to try Bluehost web hosting out.
Picking a Domain
Getting started with Bluehost is incredibly easy. You’ll start by either getting a new domain name or submitting a domain name you’ve already purchased. If you’re choosing a new name, Bluehost will let you know of that domain names availability. Or you have the option to choose the name later.
Hosting Plans on Bluehost
Then you will pick your web hosting plan. For a new blogger with only one website, I would recommend the basic Bluehost plan. Truthfully, I know very little about parked and sub domains, and I have yet to use my 50GB of website space.
After you pick your web hosting plan, you’ll fill in your account information and package information. I personally don’t choose any of the optional package additions but if you feel like you need them you can.
Enter your account information
You’ll want to make sure you out in all information correctly, especially your email address. This is how Bluehost will contact you.
After that, put in your payment info, set your password and you’re on your way.
You will be taken to a screen where you can sign up for extras. I don’t recommend most of them. I do, however, recommend extra security. This keeps the spammers from calling you and emailing you.
I made the mistake of not signing up for the security when I initially started my blog and I GOT ALL THE PHONE CALLS. It was the most ridiculous nonsense EVER.
You’ll then be taken to your Bluehost home page. You’ll also receive an email to the account you entered at sign up with instructions about installing WordPress. Once it’s installed, you’re done! You have officially entered the blog world. Congrats.
Remember, Bluehost is one of the best hosting around. They are cheap, easy to navigate and teircustomer service is amazing.
And just like that, you have officially started your blog. Next up, easily setting up your WordPress blog with these tips.
